GREAT.
GREAT. I have technical difficulties here at PRB on this piece of junk blog. And, my technical advisor is currently airborne. So PLEASE IGNORE the random html babble with my previous post. If I try to fix it I am sure to make it worse....
Seriously. Since when is training to defend the country more important than my blog? This is totally unsat.

Jim and Jessica
Today I had the pleasure of doing a photo shoot with another local photographer - the very talented Jessica Riehl. Not only is it the highest of compliments to be hired by another photographer, it is quite fun to chat with someone who 'gets' it. I did mutter about shutter speeds and ISO and other assorted things I would never voice during a regular session. Jessica - I might be nuts but I usually hide it MUCH BETTER. Alas, here are my preview shots. I am very happy with them and truly enjoyed my time with the non-newlyweds.

As in AWE as I could be....
a cane should only be allowed in the hands of a five year old boy when the distance between other living beings and famous works of art is greater than 50 yards. NANA? DID YOU GIVE THIS TO HIM????
(by the way, is that a man bag in red behind brian??? Or a European carry-all?? sorry Ian. Couldn't resist making fun of you walking around the art museum with my purse. Shame on me. I truly appreciate you hauling my lenses and assorted girl junk..... You have proven that you are comfortable with your masculinity and I admire that. and yet I still make fun of you....)
Despite the fact that I was distracted by thoughts of what my son could potentially do with that cane in his hand to these famous and priceless works of art, it was amazing to be in the National Gallery of Art on the Mall in DC this past weekend. Wow. Such famous paintings. Truly amazing and surreal. And, no, luckily Evan did not cane the great works of Monet et al we all have admired for so long....

Burgoon Family Reunion (minus four)
Evan got to be with his cousins and grandparents this weekend. That may seem mundane to many but for us it is a very big event. It is true that the three of us may have the military to blame but the rest of the Burgoons are quite widespread. CA-VA-MD and Holland. This is the first time the 4 littlest Burgoons have been together - ever! Why is that?? Well, Max and David are Dutch and live in Holland. We move all the time and can't make family holidays very often. Dylan lives in Bethesda. Because the Dutch Burgoons were to be in town we had somewhat of a family reunion in Bethesda. How wonderful that Nana and Grandpa could fly in from California, also. Of course, we were missing Sean and Liam from CA. While maybe too cool to want to hang out with the little guys, we missed them nonetheless.
So please enjoy the photos. The boys had fun at the Mall in DC and at the zoo. Riding on Grandpa's lap on the wheelchair was a total blast. It was so wonderful to enjoy ALL their personalities - although 2 of the four boys do not speak English we managed to communicate with a little translation. Quite possibly the highlight for me was watching the great entertainment from David, who did his 5 year old version of Charlie Chaplin, Hair (in French except at the reprise.... 'Let the SHUNSHINE in, Let the SHUNSHINE in....) and Jesus Christ Superstar.
We missed the Armstrongs - when will we ever get the FULL group together??? ever????

RIP Katherine
In the business of fighter jets, you are somewhat prepared for the idea that your buddies may have an accident. It isn't IF it is going to happen again - it is WHEN and WHO. But you certainly don't think about the mortality of their wives. RIP Katherine. Love to Alan and your sweet baby boys. :-(

Ummmmmm Evan???
Hmmmmm.... Looks like we have a new crushaholic in the making... I guess that makes this little girl close to my own heart.
Still.
Call me crazy... But I am a little bit freaked out by this.... apparently they are five going on fifteen. and, surely I can see why she finds that little guy irresistible.
Still.
Well, she is darn cute, that little Cammie....
